![]() I'm especially interested in Australian terminology, as it's something I don't hear about so much and I wonder how different it is. Just out of curiosity, I'd love to hear from some of you world travellers on the funniest/weirdest/most interesting vocab variations across regions or countries. Or the usage of 'gas' for bubbles in a drink that would probably horrify most Americans. ![]() Or how in everywhere but America a bathroom is usually someplace very specific. Or the jumper/sweater/pullover/vest/tank top confusion. Like the British usage of 'jelly' for what Americans would call 'jell-o' (and believe me, I got a very funny look and had some explaining to do when I mentioned peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to an Irishman). ![]() So, all this talk about chips and crisps and fries has got me thinking about other terminology differences between America and other English-speaking countries.
